Francesco Moretti was born in Pisa in 1973.
He is a graduate of the Experimental Art Lyceum of Lucca (1988 - 1992) and an honors graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Florence (5 year integrated master course, 1992 - 1997).
He has been working for three decades in painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video art, interior design, design, graphic design and advertising.
He has collaborated in the past with well-known artists (Keith Haring, Marco Eberle and Theodoros Papagiannis) and has had more than 20 solo exhibitions and participations in more than 40 group exhibitions in Italy, Greece, Switzerland, France, Hungary, Taiwan and Morocco.
He has also worked as an interior designer in Italy, Greece and Switzerland, as a lighting designer and set designer in theatre and cinema, in the technical direction of festivals and as a curator of art exhibitions on behalf of the Municipality of Pisa.
His works can be found in public spaces and private collections in Italy, Taiwan, Greece, Morocco and Switzerland, among others:
He represented Italy in 2018 at the International Biennale of Printmaking at the National Museum of Fine Arts Taichung in Taiwan, at the 2nd and 3rd International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Casablanca and participated in the tribute to Italian artists "La vie en surface" at Rivoli 59 (https://59rivoli.org) in Paris, in several meetings of the International artistic residency "Ifitry" Center of Contemporary Art in Morocco, at Sculpture Symposia at the Th. Papagiannis Museum of Contemporary Art. His large frescoes can be found in public places in Pisa, Sardinia and Athens. Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Papagiannis.
He has taught courses of visual arts at the DIEK of Nafplio, in the Postgraduate Program of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University. Peloponnese, the Fougaro cultural center, the Nafplio Culture Gate and SEK Epidaurus, the Tiryns Prison, the Art School of Argolida. Since 2024 he has held the position of artistic director of the Fichti Art International Festival.
Since August 2005 he lives and works between Italy and Greece. He has been registered with the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece since 2006 and since 2011 he maintains his artistic workshop in Nafplio.
